 . Originally formed in 1978\, Los Amigos de la Loma have been instrumental
  in reopening and maintaining Del Rio’s historic Cementerio Loma de la Cru
 z for public use. The cemetery is one of Val Verde county’s oldest\, and t
 he final resting place for over 2\,000 residents buried between 1884 and 1
 993. Los Amigos won THF funding for the lifting and repair of monuments an
 d markers\; one facet of the groups efforts to beautify the cemetery and r
 estore the extensive period craftwork demonstrated throughout. \n\nThe pre
 sentation will take place 11 a.m. on February 8 at Texas Community Bank\, 
 2411 Veterans Blvd. in Del Rio. \n
