  Ms. Kathlyn Joy Gilliam. The Museum focused on the history of the civil r
 ights and education movement in Dallas\, and Ms. Gilliam's role therein. I
 n her spirit\, the museum offered numerous education initiatives to the co
 mmunity\, including an award winning youth debate team. Sadly\, in the win
 ter of 2020-2021\, the Museum was damaged by fires\, forcing their closure
 . The Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Museum is proud to announce that their restorati
 on work is complete and that the Museum will reopen its doors to the publi
 c. This weekend\, they celebrate with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and two da
 ys of activities on site.  \n\nFrom Connie Harris\, President: \n'We are p
 leased to announce that the KJG Museum has been restored.  With the help o
 f sponsors and donors and the best general contractor on this side of Heav
 en.  We are finally back!  After two fire attempts to close our doors\, we
  are more determined than ever to be of service to students of all ages\, 
 as well as to the public.  \n\nOur “GRAND RE-OPENING”  dates are Saturday\
 , March 25 and Sunday\, March 26.  The ribbon cutting ceremony will take p
 lace from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday\, March 25.   The doors of 
 the Museum will remain open until 5:00 on both days (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m
 .).  We hope that you will join us in helping celebrate two years of hard 
 work to ensure the Museum is restored to its majesty. '
