 toric Preservation and Sustainable Development on November 15th and 16th. 
 \n\nThe Forum’s theme this year is “New Building in Old Cities” and will f
 eature presentations by public officials\, architects\, developers\, and a
 dvocates involved in historic preservation and sympathetic new constructio
 n in historic settings. Among the presenters will be Sara Bronin\, Chair o
 f the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation and David Trayte from the 
 National Park Service\, who will speak about preservation and design revie
 w from the Federal level. They will be joined by local officials and advoc
 ates as well as the sponsors and designers of projects in the San Antonio 
 area that illustrate the variety of ways that new development may partner 
 with architectural heritage to create more meaningful and sustainable plac
 es. The discussion will consider different strategies for adding new archi
 tecture to old while maintaining the historic character of a place. San An
 tonio\, one of the most historic cities in the United States\, can serve a
 s a model for cities everywhere seeking to balance historic preservation a
 nd necessary growth.  \n\nThe Forum will start off with an evening recepti
 on from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Friday\, November 15th at the office of Ford\, 
 Powell\, & Carson followed by the sessions on Saturday November 16th at th
 e Cultural Commons Gallery at Plaza de Armas from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. \n\n
 Registration for the Forum is $20 and includes a box lunch on Saturday. Re
 gistration open until November 12.\n\nHosted by Texas Historical Foundatio
