  at the 2024 Duda Preservation Awards in Dallas. The Yates Museum was reco
 gnized for their outstanding interdisciplinary work preserving the Freedme
 n's Town Historic District in Houston's Fourth Ward\, among the largest ex
 tant Freedmen's Towns in the country. They applied their winnings to the r
 estoration of the Isabella Simms Cottage\, which will take its place among
  the group's network of museums interpreting the history of the District.
