Anderson Mill Memorial, Inc.

Volente | 2012

Received funding to replace worn siding on the replica of the original mill house, which was built along with a mill wheel and museum that educates the public about Anderson Mill’s history.

Aransas County Historical Society

Rockport | 2010

THF funding applied to costs associated with creating and installing historic signage along the hike and bike trail established in Rockport and Fulton, eventually the trail will extend throughout the county.

Armstrong County Museum

Claude | 2014

Grant assistance for Phase 1 of landscaping on the grounds of the Charles Goodnight Historical Center, which includes the fully-restored Charles and Molly Goodnight Home, the Haley Visitor and Educational Center, and three restored outbuildings: the Cattalo (Caretaker’s) Cottage, a well house, and bunk house. The property is also surrounded by 30 acres of a playa lake and wildlife habitat.

Armstrong County Museum

Claude | 2012

Grant monies restored the property’s bunkhouse and assist in the renovation of the original foreman’s (Cattalo) house to serve as the residence of the property’s caretaker.

Austin Steam Train Association

Leander | 2015

Grant assistance towards the restoration of Santa Fe Car#3163, a 1946 passenger train coach. When the project is completed, it will be used as a concession car for use on ASTA’s historic railroad tours in Central Texas.

Funding for the continued restoration of the Dickey House, which will highlight Dr. James Dickey’s contribution to the health and wellness of his community.

Grant monies given for the development of a preservation plan for the Dr. James Lee Dickey House for use as a museum. The Dickey House was included in Preservation Texas’s 2008 Most Endangered Places listing.

Grant assisted with supplies and construction materials to rehabilitate the shutters of the Stillman House Museum

Buffalo Creek Association

Cleburne | 2014

THF award for a project to commission and install a six-foot tall statue of General Patrick Ronayne Cleburne. Grant funds will be applied to expenses for the sculpting and casting of the statue.

Buffalo Soldiers National Museum

Houston | 2012

A grant award for producing virtual, website tours of some of the museum’s extensive collection focusing on African American military service in Texas and the United States.

Caddo Mounds State Historic Site

Alto | 2019

Grant assistance given for the creation of four Caddo-based children’s videos and associated site historic and cultural preservation projects.

Capitol of Texas Vietnam Veterans Monument, Inc.

Austin | 2011

Grant money for the placement of a monument dedicated to veterans of the Vietnam War on the grounds of the State Capitol Building.

Caprock Cultural Association

THF grant covered expenses associated with preparing a traveling photography exhibit highlighting 10 buildings in Texas designed by nationally-renowned, early 20th-century architect Louis Curtiss.

Funds used to print brochures to promote Texas Independence Day.

Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum

THF Grant supports a project to construct a new foundation for the circa-1880 English German School.

Awarded funding to complete Phases III and IV of the Restoration Master Plan for the 1903 Knights of Pythias building. The museum, once restored, will function as an educational facility designed to preserve the ranching and western heritage of south central Texas.

Funding assistance for the final restoration phases of the museum, specifically for accessibility and public safety measures, including an elevator, a steel column and beam grid, and fire-suppression system.

Grant assistance given towards the Blue House documentary about the last Queen Anne Victorian left in the Cedars neighborhood.

Grant funds given for a multi-media and suitcase museum education project documenting Danish settlements in Texas.

DeGolyer Library – Southern Methodist University

Dallas | 2007

Funds, in part, the restoration of a significant portrait of Sam Houston by Texas artist Henry A. McArdle.

Documentary Alliance

Bellaire | 2011

THF grant award for post-production costs of Before the Curtain Rises, a documentary on Texas’ Interstate Theatre motion picture exhibition company, founded by Karl Hoblitzelle, which included a network of 250 theaters throughout the state.

Grant for stained glass windows restoration

El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail Association

Austin | 2014

THF awarded a conditional grant for a project to develop interpretive signage and brochures for a portion of the El Camino Real, which was designated as a National Historic Trail in 2004. The markers and published material will deliver historical background about the trail in general and the site in particular.
