THF Grant Presentation: Larry McMurtry Literary Center (Archer City)
Project Description:
The grant will go towards phase two acquisitions of rare historic books from the legendary Texas author's personal collection, now in the hands of a private collector, to establish the McMurtry Literary Center where volumes will be professionally preserved and made public as well as researchers. The initiative seeks to restore Archer City to Mr. McMurtry's vision as a Texas literary hub.

Project Description:
The Larry McMurtry Literary Center, which preserves acclaimed Texas writer Larry McMurtry's book collection, is currently working to acquire additional rare books from Mr. McMurtry's personal collection. The $8,300 grant awarded will fund phase one of the acquisitions, facilitating the creation of the Larry McMurtry Personal Library, which would serve researchers and the public.
