Our Funding Programs

QUARTERLY MICRO GRANTS

Texas Historical Foundation's Quarterly Micro Grants Program is an open-submission process that seeks to augment or seed historic preservation efforts at the community level. THF considers applications from eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits for funding up to $8,000.

We are excited to introduce our new THF Grants Portal and a new streamlined model for Quarterly Micro Grants in the Summer 2025 cycle. Prospective applicants are invited to create a THF Grants Portal account to submit a letter of inquiry (LOI) for consideration.

As of March 22, 2025, applications will follow a two-step process utilizing an LOI pre-screen. Any organization who meets eligibility requirements is welcome to complete a Step 1 LOI. Select applicants will then be invited to progress to the Step 2 Application stage based on the compatibility of their LOI submission.

LOIs are considered on a quarterly basis at the dates below:

CYCLE STEP 1 LOI DEADLINE RESPONSE ISSUED
Fall 2025 July 15, 2025 First week of August, select applicants invited to Step 2
Winter 2025-2026 October 15, 2025 First week of November, select applicants invited to Step 2
Spring 2026 January 15, 2026 First week of February, select applicants invited to Step 2
Summer 2026 April 15, 2026 First week of May, select applicants invited to Step 2

LOI proposals are accepted until midnight CT on the deadline date; LOIs submitted after that time automatically roll over to the next funding cycle. All Step 1 LOI submissions will receive responses at the timeline above, with select proposals invited to complete a Step 2 Application at the time of response.

Funding will be awarded:

  • Fall 2025 - First week of November, 2025
  • Winter 2025-2026 - First week of February, 2026
  • Spring 2026 - First week of May, 2026
  • Summer 2026 - First week of August, 2026

Follow Up Reports

All recipients of THF grants and awards are required to submit Follow Up Reports annually for the duration of the grant project or within 90 days of project completion.

There are two types of Follow Up Reports:

  1. Interim Reports, submitted once a year for ongoing grant projects. When an Interim Report is submitted for a project, the Grantee is considered current on reporting requirements for one year or until the project is completed, whichever occurs first.
  2. Closing Reports, submitted upon completion of the grant project.

If your organization received THF funding prior to August 2025, please download the Follow Up Report form below. Completed reports for grants awarded before August 2025 should be sent via email attachment to grants@texashistoricalfoundation.org

If your organization received THF funding August 2025 or later, you will receive email notices prompting you to prepare Follow Up Reports via the THF Grants Portal. It is not necessary to fill out the downloaded Follow Up Report.
