Preservation Texas is inviting proposals for presentations at the 2024 Preservation Texas Historic Log Building Summit. This event will be held on Thursday, October 10 & Friday, October 11th in Nacogdoches. A half-day field session will be held on Thursday afternoon, followed by an opening reception and keynote at the Fredonia Hotel. On Friday, in-person presentations will take place at the Fredonia Hotel from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The deadline for submitting proposals will be Friday, June 21, 2024.

The Preservation Texas Historic Log Building Summit will be an interdisciplinary event intended to attract participants with diverse backgrounds and skill levels, including log building owners, stewards, preservation professionals, tradespeople, students, and other interested persons.

All speakers will have access to the Fredonia Hotel's audio and visual equipment and must include visual elements in their presentation. Speakers will receive complimentary registration to the full event and a $250 honorarium. We anticipate a post-Summit publication that will incorporate some, if not all of the presentations.
