LONE STAR FLIGHT MUSEUM

Texas Historical Foundation board member Bernie Sargent has organized a presentation of THF’s Spring 2022 grant to the Lone Star Flight Museum. The presentation will take place Wednesday, January 11 at the Museum (11511 Aerospace Ave, Houston.)

The Lone Star Flight Museum is the permanent home to a collection 24 historic aircraft and memorabilia related to generations of aviation history in the state, spanning the early days of flight to modern day space travel, as well as the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame.

THF funding was awarded to the Museum for their ongoing project to document and maintain their extensive archive of historic aircraft and ephemera, improving accessibility of the collection to students, scholars, and educators by creating an online catalog of the collection. Granted funds were applied towards supplies and materials used in the archive digitization, a project the Museum hopes to complete in the Fall of 2023.

Lone Star Flight Museum staff will accept on behalf of the organization, with Mr. Sargent presenting. If you would like to attend, email grants@texashistoricalfoundation.org for details.
